Bliss Balls galore

If you haven't been introduced to Bliss Balls basically they are little balls of heaven that can incorporate your favourite ingredients whilst still being healthy and protein rich.

Whole food Simply  has some amazingly naughty and nice recipes which incorporate your favourite sweets, here are our favourites...

CARAMEL CHOC CHIP BLISS BALLS

Theres really no explanation needed for these little balls of deliciousness.... 

  • 1 cup dry roasted almonds*
  • 1 cup dry roasted cashews*
  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract
  • 50 grams 90% dark chocolate, finely chopped
  1. Place the almonds and cashews into your processor and blend at high speed until the mixture resembles a fine crumb. Add the maple syrup, salt and vanilla and blend until the mixture is well combined and sticking together. Mix through the chocolate chips.
  2. Use your hands to press and shape the mixture into balls. Place the balls into the fridge to set.
  3. Eat and enjoy!

COCONUT CHEESECAKE TRUFFLES

For the love of anything holy.... Coconut, cheesecake and truffles all in one. We will have 20, please. 

  • 250 grams full fat cream cheese
  • 3 tablespoons honey*
  • 3 tablespoons coconut cream **
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1/2 teaspoon concentrated natural vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup of desiccated coconut for coating the truffles
  1. Place the ingredients, except for the extra coconut, into your processor and blend at high speed until the mixture is well combined. Try not to over blend. Roll the mixture into balls and through the coconut. Place in the fridge to set.
  2. Eat and enjoy.

PEPPERMINT CREAM BLISS BALLS

Peppermint lovers rejoice! here we have a healthy and delicious treat will leave you feeling satisfied without the guilt.

  • 1 cup dry roasted cashews
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 2 tablespoons honey* or 10 medjool dates, seeds removed
  • 1/4 teaspoon food grade peppermint oil or 1 teaspoon natural peppermint extract
  • pinch of salt
  1. Place the cashews and coconut into your processor and blend until the mixture resembles a coarse flour. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until the mixture is well combined and sticking together. Use your hands to press and shape the mixture into balls and place into the fridge to set.
  2. Eat and enjoy.

TIM TAM BLISS BALLS

If theres one way to our hearts, its through our stomach and Tim Tams are up there with one of our favourite treats.

  • 1 cup dry roasted almonds
  • 10 medjool dates, seeds removed
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons cacao or cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon concentrated natural vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  1. Place the almonds and dates into your processor and blend just to roughly chop. You want to leave in some texture and crunch.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients to your processor and mix to gently combine. Press and shape the mixture into balls and place into the fridge to set.
  3. Eat and enjoy!
